Servings 4 Slices
FOR THE SAUCE
- 6 ounces tomato sauce
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1/2 tbsp Italian seasoning
- salt and black pepper to taste
INGREDIENTS FOR THE PIZZA DOUGH
- 1 cup flour
- 1 tsp yeast
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2/3 cup water
- Mozzarella cheese
- green bell peppers
- or use toppings of your choice
In a small bowl, combine the tomato sauce, olive oil, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper to taste. Set aside.
In a non-stick pan, add the warm water and yeast and mix well. Add the flour, sugar, salt, and olive oil. Mix well until a shaggy dough is formed. Don’t be tempted to add more flour.
Spread the dough inside the pan to create a smooth surface. Spread the tomato sauce over the dough, then spread cheese and top with your favorite toppings.
Cover the pan and place the dough on medium heat. Leave to cook for 10 to 15 minutes or till a golden crust is formed and the cheese is bubbly.
Leave to cool for a few minutes before serving.
- This pizza dough works well for thin crust.
- Feel free to use the store-bought pizza sauce if you don’t feel like making your own from scratch.
- Customize it by using your choice of cheese and toppings
