  • 1 Coconut
  • 3 Tbsp Sugar Optional
  • 2 Tbsp Coconut Oil

The Stove-top Method

  • For Fresh Raw Coconut: Grate the coconut and clean the meat. Then use the largest shredding hole of the grater to grate the Coconut.
  • Add Sugar and stir (Optional)
  • In a medium pan, heat the oil on medium heat. Add your coconut flakes and continuously stir the Coconut as you toast; this will enable even browning.
  • After about 10 minutes a little more or less, the Coconut will be well browned.
  • Serve and Enjoy!

The Oven Method

  • If using sweetened Coconut flakes, Preheat Oven to 320F. Spread the Coconut flakes inside cookie Sheet and bake 5 to 6 minutes stirring at 2 to 3 minutes Intervals till golden brown.
  • If Using Unsweetened Coconut Flakes, preheat oven to 300F. Spread the Coconut flakes inside cookie Sheet and bake 7 to 10 minutes stirring at 3 minutes Intervals till golden brown.

Microwave Method

  • No Oil is required in this method. Simply spread the flakes on a microwave-safe bowl and microwave on a high microwave setting at 30-second intervals stirring at each interval for about 5 to 6 minutes or till the coconut chips is golden brown.

That the time taken for the coconut to brown depends on the quantity of your flakes. Lesser flakes will brown faster than a large number of flakes.
