Ingredients

  • 16 oz tomato sauce 1 can
  • ¾ cup water
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon white sugar
  • 1 pinch salt optional
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper optional
  • 1 tablespoon lime

Instructions

  • Combine all ingredients except the lime in a saucepan, cook on high heat until boiling.
  • Reduce heat to low and bring to a simmer, stirring occasionally, for 10 minutes or until slightly thickened. Simmer a little longer for thicker consistency.
  • Turn off the heat and stir in the lime juice. Leave to cool and use as needed
