  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

How to make roasted cabbage

  • Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and place the rack in the middle position. 
  • Remove damaged outer leaves from the cabbage and cut it into quarters, removing the core. 
  • Slice each quarter into 1-inch thick pieces. 
  • In a bowl, combine olive oil, minced garlic, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. 
  • Toss the cabbage in this mixture until coated. 
  • Spread the cabbage on a baking sheet in a single layer and roast for 20-25 minutes until browned and tender. 
  • Optionally, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and parsley before serving as a side dish or snack.

The skillet method is most suitable for reheating few slices of roasted cabbage. To reheat in a skillet, you will need to place your roasted cabbage slices in a skillet over medium-low heat. Warm on each side for few minutes, until it’s heated through. 

To reheat in the oven, you will need to preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). When this is done, place the roasted cabbage slices on a baking sheet. Then warm until it is heated through. This can take about 10-15 minutes and it works well for larher portions. 

The microwave method is quite simple, although you may lose the crispy edges of the cabbage. What you will need to do is place the roasted cabbage in a microwave-safe dish, then heat till you get your desired temperature.
