Air fryer Potato Wedges – Full of flavor with just the right crisp. Cook in the air fryer for light and fluffy potatoes without all the unwanted deep-frying oil. You will love the flavor of the spice blend.
POTATO WEDGES MADE IN THE AIR FRYER
This flavorful spiced potato recipe shows that you can have crispy potatoes without all of the frying oil. Instead, the recipe uses an air fryer to cook them until they are golden brown and super crispy.
To give the dish an extra punch of flavor, the potatoes are tossed in a blend of eight different spices. The spices are a perfect blend of salt, heat, and savory notes to make the perfect bite.
The air fryer allows the potatoes to crisp up to perfection without being soggy and covered in unnecessary oil. The simple cooking method will easily be your go-to for cooking after you give this recipe this try. In fact, this cooking method is perfect for your Air Fryer Breakfast Potatoes as well.
HOW TO MAKE SPICED POTATO WEDGES
- Prep the potatoes: Wash the potatoes or peel them if desired. Russet potatoes tend to come with a bit of dirt on them, so make sure to wash them thoroughly.
- Make the spice mix: Add all of the spices together in a bowl and combine well. Make sure to mix the spice mixture well so everything will be distributed evenly.
- Toss everything together: Transfer everything into one large bowl and toss together until evenly coated.
- Cook them up: Add the potato mixture into a single layer in the air fryer and bake for 15 minutes. Rotate the potatoes about halfway through to ensure an even crisp and cook on all sides.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO MAKE THESE AIR FRYER POTATO WEDGES?
Overall it will take about 25 minutes to make the potatoes. The prep work to cut and assemble the spice rub should take about 10 minutes total. The cooking time in the air fryer is about 15 minutes, including rotating the wedges about halfway through.
WHAT KIND OF POTATOES SHOULD I USE?
Russet potatoes will work best for this recipe. The potatoes, which you may also know as Idaho, have a thick skin that crisps up nicely and a full flesh resulting in super fluffy wedges. That combination, plus the high starch content in the potatoes, makes them hold up well in high heat.
WHAT TEMPERATURE SHOULD I COOK THE POTATOES IN THE AIR FRYER?
The potatoes should cook in the air fryer at 400F. Depending on your air fryer, you may or may not have to preheat it before you start cooking.
WHAT SHOULD I SERVE WITH THESE POTATO WEDGES?
Potatoes go great with any meal. You can serve these spiced potatoes wedged alongside eggs in the morning or as a side dish at a barbecue or during an everyday dinner. Try them on your plate next to scrambled tofu, chicken drumsticks, or a simple hamburger.
