You will love this tomato mozzarella salad that is seasoned just right with basil, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar. The flavor burst will work well as a quick lunch idea or side dish with your favorite meal.

Tomato Mozzarella Salad

This simple salad is nutrient-dense and flavor-packed and will quickly become a favorite in your house. You can enjoy tomato mozzarella salad during the summer season to grill events or bring it as a side dish for a family gathering.

I’m naturally not a cheese person but theres just something about Mozzarella cheese that I can’t explain. I love it on my pizza and my salads. It’s my favorite cheese. It’s also easy to work with and it pairs so well with tomatoes giving it a nice flavor burst.

The best options to serve with this delicious salad include most any meat you enjoy eating or perhaps serve this tomato mozzarella salad as a main course meal with a side of your favorite bread. The options are endless when it comes to figuring out what you can pair with this salad.

Ingredients for making Tomato Salad.

With just a handful of ingredients, you can easily make this delicious salad 

You will need:

  • ripe tomatoes cherry tomatoes or grape tomatoes
  • fresh mozzarella I used the fresh mozzarella balls
  • basil leaves
  • Oregano
  •  olive oil 
  • balsamic vinegar or white balsamic for a lighter color
  • salt & pepper for taste.

How to make Tomato Mozzarella Salad

All you need is to combine the tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, fresh basil, pinch of sea salt, some really good Olive oil and a few drops of balsamic vinaigrette. Done!

Are tomatoes and mozzarella good for you?

Yes! Most foods from the Mediterranean diet are naturally good for you. This salad is an excellent heart-healthy option to enjoy as a standalone meal or next to your favorite main course dish. It is also a perfect option to curb hunger between meals without digging into too many calories or carbs.

  2. If you choose to make this simple salad ahead of time, then you can cover keep it in a sealed airtight and place it in the refrigerator. It can keep 2-3 days in the fridge when stored properly.
  3. I don’t use sugar for my Caprese salad, but you can add a little bit to cut the acidity if you wish.
  4. I love the taste of balsamic vinegar, but it stains so if you are particular about looks, you can add the balsamic vinegar just before serving.

Tomato Mozzarella salad

Tomato Mozzarella salad – You will love this tomato mozzarella salad that is seasoned just right with basil, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar. The flavor burst will work well as a quick lunch idea or side dish with your favorite meal.

Ingredients

  • Salad
  • 3 cups cherry tomatoes halved
  • 1/2 lb fresh mozzarella balls
  • 1/4 cup basil leaves torn or chopped
  • 1/4 tsp oregano
  • Dressing
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 Tbsp balsamic vinegar or add to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and ground pepper to taste

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, combine the olive, balsamic vinegar, dijon mustard, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir well and set aside.
  • Place the tomatoes mozzarella balls, basil leaves, oregano, (salt, and black pepper if necessary) in a large bowl. Toss to combine.
  • Pour the dressing over the tomato mixture and gently toss to coat evenly.
  • Garnish with some more basil leaves and drizzle with balsamic glaze if desired.
  • Chill at least an hour or until ready to serve.
